Lunch and Learn: May 10th

For Wednesday May 10th, bring your lunch and join Analis Fulghum and Bianca Howard for a lunch and learn on composting!

You'll learn about the benefits of composting, how to make your own vermicomposting bin and start or improve your backyard composting pile. One lucky participant will win their own set of worms complete with bin.

The Highest Honor


The highest honor a state employee may receive is the Governor's Award of Excellence. 

This year one of the ten recipients is one of NC State's own staff members... Hermine Kabbendjian.

The right ice cream to get you 'howling' for more educational opportunities

If you ever need to research reasons into eating cream,
Gary Cartwright is the person to see. He gave the senators a ‘sweet’ presentation about The NC State Dairy Enterprise System. An educational  system that takes the student  from the farm to the freezer, incorporating a teaching farm, research, processing laboratory and  the univeristy’s  own Howling Cow Ice Cream .

The Planning Process

How it came about and how its moving forward for the Business Operations Centers was the presentation given by Charlie Lefler, the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business and Don Patty, Interim Director for Business Operations to the senators at the August meeting. At the NCSU Staff Senate annual retreat in July, new senators are welcomed and introduced to the returning senate body. There were several presentations including one from Chancellor Woodson, one from Jeff Chandler the Sandhills Research Station Superintendent (District 19 E) who gave a presentation about the NC Cooperative Extension, and Joy Smith who gave a presentation about the Staff Senate Computer Loan Program.
